Our pre-writing tracing boards have been designed to teach children the first lines that they will need to be able to create before they start to form letters. Children can either trace the lines with their finger or use the wooden tracing stick which is provided with the boards. This is a great tactile way for children to practice the types of lines which make up the letters of the alphabet.
There are a variety of sensory activities which you can do with your children when using our pre-writing boards. These include making crayon rubbings of the lines, filling the lines with mini felt balls or beads or coloured counters or even coloured rice!
The first of the two pre-writing boards focuses on the basic lines used in most letters e.g. straight horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines and on the reverse we have a repeating pattern which will help your child practice those lines.
The second pre-writing board has curved and wavy lines which also help to form letters of the alphabet and on the reverse are the next stage shapes that will help them in forming letters.

Dimensions
Our pre-writing boards are 30cm long and 14.5cm wide. They are made from solid beech wood and hand sanded smooth to touch.
Our boards have been CE tested.
